Snowdrop has not taken to polo as I had hoped, but she would make an excellent hacking horse.

She successfully passed a Stage 2 vetting last year and is sound and ready for work.

While she is not suitable for a beginner rider, she would be ideal for a competent rider looking for a reliable and enjoyable hacking horse.

She may also have potential in other disciplines with the right training and direction.

Geoff is a 14.2hh chunky Bay Blagdon gelding, 4 years

We have had Geoff since the start of last summer and he was purchased as an unbroken project. Sadly a change in my work circumstances force a sale earlier than I would have liked. That being said, he has been broken to ride lightly and he was as easy as expected and has been turned away.

He has a placid, sweet but brave nature and is fabulous to have around. Catch, lead, tie up, muck out round, groom, farrier. He has a lovely nature with other horses too.

Nothing has been rushed with him. He is young and green so will be sold to a knowledgeable home only, however, he is going to make someone a fabulous cob with size and substance. They don’t make cobs like this anymore.

Serious enquiries only. He is based near Whalley, Lancashire. We can arrange transport nationally.

Geoff is sound, never sick or sorry, no sweetitch, great feet and no sarcoids. Had teeth done and wolf teeth removed and is ready to be brought back into work.

He is open to vet.

Subulter Fern - Stunning dapple grey mare,16.2hh, 6years, weight carrier. Safe and Steady Draught / Irish Cob

Happy Hacker, Weight Carrier, Ride and Drive, Low Maintenance

Fern is an ultimate confidence giver, exceptional 16.2hh chunky mare with a leg in each corner, this rare combination of safety, strength, experience, and a heart of gold. She is kind, bold, dependable weight carrier, ideal for a wide range of riders from competent noice to more experienced jockeys who prefer a calm sensible mount with an engine.

Fern is beautifully put together and has been there and done it in every sense. A calm, considerate and willing mare, she is a perfect mount for riders who want to enjoy their riding at a relaxed pace without compromising on ability and responsiveness. She has a 5th gear to die for when asked, she will love jumping both coloured and rustic fences, she is bold, athletic and careful she would compete in showjumping, cross country, working hunter, hunting, the great thing about Fern is that she has the ability to excel in any discipline while remaining calm and unfazed, she is being completely wasted in a riding school as she has so much potential.

she has been driven prior to us getting her both Single, Pair: harnessed side-by-side to a carriage and team in agricultural, draught, two heavy horses working together.

Fern is currently working 4 days a week in a professional riding school environment, she has excelled with every level of rider from competent novices to advanced, group and private lessons, both under saddle and during stable management sessions.

She would be ideal for hunting. She will stand and wait calmly within large crowds and open spaces and remains completely unfazed by loud noises or horses running around her. She does not fizz up, spook or spin.

Fern loves to hack out and does so safely and calmly. She will happily hack alone or in company and has been exposed to the heaviest, fastest-moving traffic imaginable. She is completely unphased by buses, lorries, farm machinery and all types of vehicles. She remains safe and steady in all environments and does not rush or pull, even in open spaces or on the way home.

Although she is happy to go at a quiet, steady pace, she is also responsive to the leg and has three balanced, steady paces. For more experienced riders, she will work with enthusiasm and energy, always staying calm and sensible.

Fern has outstanding ground manners. She stands for hours to be groomed and fussed over, with or without a headcollar or lead rope. She is never marish or clingy, and she’s happy living in or out. In the field, she keeps herself to herself and never causes trouble, whether stabled alone or turned out in a mixed herd.

Fern has a history of excellent health and has never had laminitis, sweet itch, sarcoids, or any lumps, bumps, or unsoundness. She is currently barefoot with strong, healthy hooves and is equally happy to be shod. She is excellent to catch, great to load and travel, good with the farrier, vet, and dentist.

She is incredibly low maintenance, requiring no daily work. She can have weeks off and return to ridden work without any fuss. She maintains her condition year-round on a simple diet and is easy to manage in every way.

She passes our annual Licence Inspection, which is the equivalent of a Stage 2 vetting.

Fern is a rare gem. She is the perfect choice for someone looking for a calm, dependable, and capable all-rounder. Whether you are a novice rider, someone looking for a safe happy hacker, or a family looking for a versatile and loving horse, Fern fits the bill perfectly. She is a genuine schoolmistress who provides confidence and enjoyment in every ride and will give her next owner years of pleasure.

This is a heartbreaking sale. As part of our regular stock rotation, we give our riding school horses the opportunity to move on to private homes every few years so they can enjoy one-on-one attention and new experiences. Fern is ready to bring joy to her next rider and deserves the very best home. Sold on behalf of a working livery.

We rotate our stock and we are currently reducing our numbers so we have a few other horses and ponies available for sale.

Wanted a special horse for an older lady 14.2 - 15.2

Ref #: 411512
  • I'm looking for a horse to join our 2 other geldings for me to have fun on and to continue riding.
  • Must be safe and easy to do, not spooky.
  • Would have to be a gelding, age immaterial, but probably under 18.

  • Must be safe and easy to do, not spooky.
  • Would have to be a gelding, age immaterial, but probably under 18.

I have ridden all my life, to include racing (p to p and on the flat), eventing, moderate dressage, SJ and even polo and polocrosse. But time has now caught up with me and I need a safe conveyance to keep me riding. I ride every day at the moment, but my special horse had to be put to sleep last week and I need to fill his shoes.

Whoever comes here to be with me would have wonderful private facilities, to include loads of off road riding, beautiful village scenery to admire. We have lots of old grassland grazing and huge stables, one of which is empty now.

He must load and travel alone, (I often go out alone) to join others hacking in the local forest. I take horses to the beach to enjoy Norfolk's lovely Holkham. My only problem is I don't have shed loads of money to buy my new best friend.

Any ideas, anyone? Prefeably eastern area. Suffolk/Norfolk/Essex.

I have made the difficult decision to offer my lovely 14-year-old, 16.2hh Warmblood x Thoroughbred Sports Horse for sale. I’ve owned him for the past year, but sadly I don’t feel we are the right partnership and I am holding him back. He deserves a confident rider who can help him reach his full potential. He loves his work, enjoys being mentally stimulated, and the more he does, the more he excels.

He has three lovely, balanced paces and has competed in dressage, where he is foot perfect and always tries his best. He has a beautiful canter and gallop, remaining calm and level-headed without becoming strong or silly.

He hacks happily alone or in company. If he’s unsure of something, he may stop and step backwards rather than rush forwards, but he’s never nasty or explosive. Just needs quiet calm forward riding.

He absolutely loves farm rides and really enjoys pole work. He has jumped up to 80cm whilst with us and has plenty of ability for me. He can lack confidence to a fence, so he benefits from a strong, confident rider who will ride him positively to the jump. If unsure, he may stop or run out. Occasionally he’ll give a little buck after a jump through excitement, but this is rare.

He loads well, although he can sometimes pause and step backwards before walking on.

Shod on the front feet only.

Up to date with all vaccines and dentist. Has regular massages.

He such a quick learner and so intelligent.

His only vice is that he windsucks quietly after eating, but this has never caused him any health problems or damage. He can get stressed in new situations..and he can become mouthy .. however calm, firm handling quickly settles him and he returns to being his usual kind self.

This is a genuine and heartbreaking sale of a much-loved horse. He has so much to offer the right person and would make a fantastic horse for someone wanting to enjoy hacking, dressage, farm rides and jumping. With a confident rider, I believe he has plenty of potential.

He is not a novice ride and living his best life would be dressage tests and schooling and jumping

  • Loves to jump
(The cob formerly known as Clarence) super fun all rounder / hunting cob who is sadly offered for sale due to owner’s retirement. Jimmy was brought over from Ireland by us as a 4 year old, he was then sold to his current owners who have had him ever since. They are both now in their 80’s and hanging up their riding boots so he has returned to find his new hopefully forever home.

Jimmy has been a fun all rounder in his current home, his owners were regular subscribers with the Fitzwilliam hunt and he’s been well hunted by the whole family. He’s a cracking cob to hunt, stands quietly when asked, excellent at meets and happy to pop all hunt jumps. He absolutely loves the job and is safe but keen, he is always a little strong on his first canter out in the open but then becomes very easy. Adult daughter has intermittently taken him out both SJ and XC schooling, he enjoys his jumping and could go on to do all RC activities. Jimmy has mainly hacked and hunted with his owners so his flat work needs a little polishing off to do a dressage test, however, he is obedient and off the aids in the school when asked.

Out hacking he’s super, good both alone and in company and has been great in fairly busy traffic. He’s forward thinking but not really going anywhere with it and for this reason he’s not for a wobbly novice.

He’s very easy to have on the yard, happy to live in or out and good to box, shoe, clip etc. he’s up to date with everything and ready to go and have some fun. He has a couple of little handling quirks, can be a bit rude to lead in and out the field and needs someone horse savvy but this has been managed and not a problem with elderly owners. He’s a bit unsettled here atm with us and needs to find an understanding private home asap as hasn’t taken the change very well and likes to know his people! That being said he’s settling back in to his routine here quite quickly and we have him sussed handling wise.

Best home wanted who will drop old owners the odd message and let them know how he is.

Seen at livery.

Safe and fun all rounder!

Lovely cob who will make someone a really fun all rounder/ hack/ possible hunter.

Not a sluggy dead cob! Toto is a fun forwards thinking boy with a nice mouth and way of going, he would be a lot of fun to take to local unaff dressage, SJ, XC etc. he rides very sweetly on the flat and works in a natural shape, he’s nicely off the aids but not sharp or silly with it. He would definitely suit a keen middle aged RC lady who wants something that feels like it has a bit of engine without going anywhere. He’s very quiet out hacking both alone and in company and excellent in traffic, has been up to the pub with us, happy to stand patiently, steal a chip / half a pint etc. he’s good in open spaces and pulls up when asked.

We have taken him XC schooling and he was genuine and brave, jumped everything asked of him and was a lot of fun. He’s also jumping round a small course of coloured fences very happily but will trot down to a fence if you don’t want full speed ahead! We have taken him on a sponsored ride with rusty, inexperienced rider and he behaved brilliantly and gave her loads of confidence jumping and picked her back up when she nearly wobbled off! He’s got plenty of jump to go and do everything at local level well and will give someone an awful lot of fun. To jump in the arena Toto is a little greener but still very genuine, he’s happy to give everything a go. He just needs a few more miles on. The clock as last home only really hacked him.

Toto is a lovely chap to handle, box, catch, shoe, clip etc. he loves fuss and attention, he’s got very good manners and likes people.

Seen at livery.

Happy hacker

She’s been on fun rides been ridden in heavy traffic and open fields and popped a small fence. Can be ridden to the pub and happy to stand for hours with a pint.

Lovely non spooky mare who never gets strong and will happily hack alone or in company

Travels well and good to shoe and turn out in a herd or alone. Never gets clingy with other horses.

She would make a fantastic hunter and is very easy to keep

Looking for a fun happy hacking home for this lovely mare. Still a little green in places as only came back to work early this year so no total novices please!

13.1hh Approx. Chestnut Cob Gelding | 3 Years Old

A genuine, unspoilt young cob looking for someone to continue his education.

Standing at approximately 13.1hh, this lovely 3-year-old chestnut gelding has been in the same home since he was 2 years old. He has recently begun his ridden career and has been under saddle for around a month, taking everything in his stride.

He is happily walking and trotting around the lanes and fields, hacking out in company, and is proving to be a kind, straightforward and genuine pony. He enjoys his work, has a lovely way of going, and is eager to learn.

Having lived on a working farm, he has seen plenty of tractors, farm machinery and livestock, and is well accustomed to a busy environment. He is happy to stand tied up on the yard to be groomed and handled.

He can be ever so slightly nervous due to limited handling, but he has had a great upbringing and is improving all the time with regular work and reassurance. He is completely unspoilt and raw, making him an ideal blank canvas for someone wanting a rewarding project.

With further education and mileage, he has all the attributes to make a fantastic all-rounder and has the potential to become a super Pony Club pony for the future. He is willing, sensible and enjoys having a job.

He is not suitable for a novice as he still requires bringing on and further education, but in capable hands he has a very bright future ahead of him.

He is now ready for viewings and will continue his education while he is looking for his new home.

Currently on backing/sales livery, he is based near Badminton and is available for viewings by appointment.

A kind, knowledgeable home is essential for this special young gelding.

  • Great hack, alone or in company, done X country and hunted.
  • Professionally schooled and working well on the flat and over coloured poles.

This mare was imported, unbroken, from Ireland as a 5 year old. She's beautifully bred with half ID x TB blood. She was broken in shortly afterwards has been brought on slowly. She has now just turned 7 years. She has been hacked and lightly hunted and schools nicely on the flat and over jumps. She has done a couple of fun rides and loads well on a 3.5T lorry. She has the potential to excel in any sphere and needs a new rider to take her forward and continue her education.

She's fantastic as a hack, stands politely at the mounting block, great in traffic, regularly crosses 'A' roads. She goes out happily on her own or with company. She's great in the stable and on the floor. She lives in or out and she's excellent to catch, coming to call.

She has recently been at schooling livery and is starting to work nicely on the flat. Her schooling is continuing to progress and she's also been introduced to coloured poles and is proving athletic in this area. She has the potential to be a versatile all-rounder or competition horse. She would make a brilliant ODE for someone to progress with.

She's a horse that likes a job to do and thrives on being ridden. Unfortunately, I no longer want to compete and I don't have the facilities to bring her on so she's being totally wasted. At Schooling livery she worked politely in the school and is jumping well. She now needs a new home where she can move forward and enjoy being produced. Masses of potential and a very classy mare.

She is in excellent health. She has no issues or sarcoids and great feet. She's only been lightly ridden and passed a 5 Stage vetting 18 months ago when I took her on. This is available and open to any further vetting. She is priced to sell. Good home is essential. No loans. Please WhatsApp for further info.

Her owner has done a fantastic job giving her excellent manners, making her a pleasure to have around the yard and to handle. She is good to shoe, load and clip, and is easy in all aspects of daily management.

On the flat she works in a natural outline, moving in a rhythmical, correct way.

She is bold over cross-country fences, despite not having done a huge amount of XC to date.

She has been hunting, where she was excellent – not strong or silly in any way.

Great to hack alone or in company. She is sensible in open spaces, does not get silly when cantering, and will happily pop ditches. Goes first, last, or sits quietly in the middle of the ride.

A genuine, straightforward horse with a lovely attitude and plenty of ability for someone to enjoy and progress.

He works correctly in a soft rhythmical way on the flat.

Will jump anything - has NEVER stopped

Fantastic with ditches, steps, water etc

Loves a fuss, does need sedating to clip (although I did manage without at the end of the season) but good in all other ways.

Deserves a very special home that is going to cherish him like @ellielawrence927 does

Will suit a fun, kind, ambitious young person!

Heartbreaking sale of our lovely 16.1 15 year old warmblood x

We have had the privilege of owning the lovely Autumn for the past two years and during that time she has helped my now 16 year old daughter transition from ponies to horses.

Autumn is a lovely person to have on the yard in every way, my petite 11 year old daughter regularly handles her with ease.

Autumn is a pleasure to hack alone and in company. She is level headed in traffic and is more than sensible in open spaces, never bolted, bucked or reared and I can always rely on her to bring my daughter home safely.

Autumn has given my daughter the best two years, we have gone to several stay aways and she has introduced my daughter to BS. My daughter now wants to move up the heights and with Autumn getting older we feel it is unfair to push her out of her comfort zone.

We think the perfect match for Autumn would be a competent adult who enjoys hacking, fun rides and a non competitive home. Autumn loves hacking and we feel that she would thrive in a hacking home.

We would love to find Autumn her forever home so this is of utmost importance to us.

Perfect to be clipped (she falls asleep), load, and for the farrier - she is currently barefoot and has very good feet. Up to date with vaccinations, teeth and worming. Please no time wasters as this is difficult enough as it is. Absolutely no dealers.

Tack can be negotiated separately.
