Incredibly sad sale of our versatile amazing pony Beau who my daughter has unfortunately outgrown and she has now moved onto horses.
We have owned Beau for over two years and when purchased he was very green and low mileage but has been our pony of a lifetime and has enabled us to enjoy competing all around the country.
Beau had been brought on solely by my daughter and is now a well schooled pony with flashy paces, bold to a jump XC and SJ but is kind and gentle with big heart.
He is a true competition pony who is forward going but not strong and would be most suitable for a balanced quiet rider, who can offer a varied life. We are in no rush to sell him unless it’s to the right home.

Due to his versatility since owning him we have literally done everything from BS camps, stay aways, dressage, Derbys, Arena Eventing, Cotswold Cup, BS, BE and if we had more time with him we would definitely have tried working hunter.
He has won a huge amount of rosettes and prizes and we have hundreds of photos and videos.

Some of his achievements:
1st 80cm and 90cm arena eventing SW league 2025 & 2026.
Attended BE arena evening championships Aston-le-Walls with beautiful rounds.
NSEA SJ championships finals 3rd place 85cm individual.
Qualified teams 2025
Qualified in 1st place in both Bluechip 80&90cm 2025 for 2026 champs.
Multiple BE success 80/90cm
Clear cross country every outing and double clear in his first 90cm.

Beau will still be out competing in this season’s BE until sold.

He loves hacking and will go first or last, he is great with tractors and machinery.
He does not get excited in open spaces, we don’t have an arena so he is used to working on grass.

He prefers his own company and I think a quiet yard/one to one would best suit him as this is his current situation.
Easy to do in all ways, shoe clip etc, polite and gentle, great around children and dogs.
Never sick or sorry and full history known.

Home is of upmost importance to us as we would want to stay in contact and continue to watch his career.

In 2025, the first year competing with our 11-year-old daughter, Misty exceeded all expectations successfully finishing the year with a feature article in the 2025 Winter Edition of British Eventing Magazine.

- In 2025 consistently placed 1-3 in showjumping & arena eventing and Top 6-10 in BE eventing classes, with most recently SIX consecutive Double Clears at 80/90cm.
Competed in the 2025 NSEA Eventers Challenge Championships (70/80cm), 2025 British Showjumping National Academy Championships (Midi 90cm), 2026 British Eventing Arena Eventing Championships (AE80) and Qualified for 2027 British Eventing Badminton Grassroots Regional Qualifier (BE90).

Temperament and Care

Misty is a pleasure in every way:

Reason for Sale

This is a very sad sale as our daughter has now outgrown her. Misty has given us so many incredible memories, but we have recently purchased a new horse to allow our daughter to step up to BE Novice / Intermediate level.

Romulus d’hurl Vent is a complete gentleman who is kind and calm. He is super talented and excels in all disciplines. He has been a pony of a lifetime for my two sons who have done everything with him. He is exceptionally well schooled and a careful jumper. He steps up and steps down for both of my sons and has taken them both seamlessly from unaffiliated SJ to BS. He is 143cm and 21 years old.

He has excelled in dressage, show jumping, arena eventing and eventing and is a true allrounder. Prior to us owning him he had a BE90 record and has had hunted. We have mainly concentrated on Pony Club (including camp and rallies), BS, BS Kent Academy and NSEA.

Never sick or sorry

He is an absolute joy to have on the yard and is good to catch, hack, shoe, clip, travel (trailer or lorry) and in open spaces.

This is an extremely sad sale and one which we have been putting off for a long time but Rom has so much more to give and is wasted as he is hopelessly outgrown. He will only go to the very best of homes. References will be taken and of course we have references available for Rom.

He will come with all his tack (bridle, GP saddle and dressage saddle) and a full wardrobe of rugs and boots etc.
